I got the ones with the double blade. They have them in fancy colors like hot pink, chrome, neon green, etc. But I just went with a shiny black.

It was a pain installing them, but eventually, I got it.

There's no such thing as a good wiper blade. I'm convinced of it.

Even the factory ones are lousy. I've tried them all. Winter, summer, teflon, Dealer, After market, they all suck.

I think the Reflex wiper blade at Canadian Tire will be good as it seems to stay firm with the contour of the windshield, also their is similar type at Walmart but I forgot the brand name.

SInce I drive a pickup there's a lot of turbulence at the windshield and the blades would lift at about 120 on a windy day. I went with the aerofoil and was more than happy with them, they worked great.

THAT'S EXACTLY what I was thinking.
So I thought I'd post and ask, they really do suck.
But I'm tempted to try the reflex ones. Aerofoil not too bad, but this winter, I won't be driving too fast if we're gonna have snow covered ground.

I like the reflex blades at Canadian Tire. They don't have a large bracket/plastic/metal piece attached to the rubber, hence less likellihood of getting blocked with ice. I just saw an ad for a new type of winter wiper blade at Can. Tire, I will report back in the next day if they are any good.

You are correct. Cleanest summer blade out there, but they still chatter at 120Km plus, probably because they clean tooooo much water off of the windshield, and therefore no lubricant on the return pass. I've used the CTC Teflon blades and Reflex, and neither one is 100% winter friendly. My last 2 pairs of Reflex blades, one blade in each set, the rubber blade seperated from the spring(ripped away). CTC won't replace.

For the price, just buy the winter ones with the rubber boot around the frame, and use RainX washer fluid with de-icer. Has a polymer water repellant, that makes wet snow and rain bead, and flow up the windshield with airflow.

BTW, always change your blades every fall, to have the best blade for the coming ice season. Blades with deteriorate with UV, ice and general pollution, causing pitting in the rubber surface that passes on the windshield, eventually causing the streaking.

Do you find the RainX makes a difference?
You know how your windshield has the 2 clean areas where the wiper has passed, and the rest is white from dried salty roadspray? RainX helps keep the whole windshield cleaner, and beads the drizzle, mist, fog etc so you don't actually have to use the blades to clear as often. It allows for intermitent wiper use in heavier rain also. I've found wet snow to respond similarly to rain. I know it costs twice what the regular blue wash does, but well worth the extra$

Thanks for the info - last question (I hope).

Do you use it 100% or diluted?
100% RainX. The yellow with de-icer for the winter, and pink for the bug guts in the summer.

Agree they all suck.
They intentionally make crap rubber blade compounds now.
Back in the 70-80s they would last a couple or more yrs, no problem.
Now it's hard to get them to last a year!

Just another car parts scam.
The joys of so-called deregulation, that was supposed to save you money.
These auto 'parts crooks' are allowed to rip you off any way they can.

rain x

use rain x
applying more the day before rain/snow is forecasted

you will only need your wipers 10% of the time
thus wipers will last much longer between wearing out

also your eyes don't go buggy
from the wipers constantly moving across the windshield

and talkin bugs
bugs do not get embedded into the glass
they seem to slide off easily
as does snow and ice

rain x is the route to go

not sure what is the best but I just bought blades from Rubbermaid. The best is to replace them every 6 months or between summer and winter.

Wish I knew about RainX before I bought the motomaster teflon fluid this morning.
Next round I guess.
Wonder if you can mix the stuff?

* 1 Tablespoon of liquid detergent

-add more alcohol if required to prevent freezing.

What makes a better fluid then when you see it at the stores?

Hmm, Canadian Tire didn't have the RainX wipe fluid, only the big spray bottle.
Guess I'll be taking it back and buying the other stuff.
Was wondering whether or not I got the right stuff
