I'm not big into Winterlicious. In my experience, they put together some cheap fare and it's not that great.

I'd rather just go to a good restaurant and order off the regular menu at the regular prices.

BTW, I would recommend "Frank's Kitchen" on College and Clinton as a newly discovered excellent restaurant.

It must be just your experience because I've never got that feeling at any of the dozen or so restaurants I been to in the past.

Imho Winterlicious/Summerlicious is like Boxing Day for restaurants. The good stuff isn't gonna be on sale.

+ 1. You are not going to get Salad, Foie, Steak/Fish, and Dessert for $25 at any decent restaurant. It's interesting to see how so many people think it's a good deal, when in reality the restaurants are merely trying to push some volume during the slowest time of the year.

Check out some of the menus first, before you say that or call them up and ask what's cookin'. If they're cooking the same things for the festival it to their benfit and what they loose in price they make up in quality. I know there are a number of members with restaurant experience, so they can give they pov. It doesn't make sense to short change someone as it takes way too long to make up for one bad review passed on. If you like them, you'll go back and tell others about them. Think of some the 'best of' reviews we've had on the BB.

No, but you might for $45. What's wrong with pushing a deal during a slow time? It's good business to me. They'll come back another time. Is that they same way you look at daily chef choice as well?

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with pushing volume during slow times. In my experience, I do found that the food quality during Winterlicious and Summerlicious is inferior to regular times. Having said that, I do think it is a great excuse to get together with friends for a night out.

Yeah, Mandarin Buffet, voted Best Chinese Food on TERB!

As for the complaints of the special prix fixe menus, then don't order from them. As a foodie, I think it is a great excuse for trying something different on the menu. I've yet to have anything "bad" off any of the Winterlicious menu's.
Wow! I missed that one. Mulligan!!!!
