drm is built into vista and they can control what applications can run on windows.

cracks won't work on applications.

by forcing people to upgrade to vista you will have alot less control over your computer system.

This works for music and movies. By the time vista has a SP2 all will be back to normal.

I obtained a licence for this and it works like a charm.
It is not lossless encoding. That is the whole point of drm, is is stop digital copying.

Vista can't stop digital to analog to digital but you lose quality. They do it by disabling features of digital output stream and limiting the ahrdware features.

Already Vista has the code what software will run on it and they can disable or cripple on how prgrams run which is the whole point of drm, limiting the software and hardware.

I am loathing to upgrade to Vista but is is going to be forced onto people when they buy new computers. Opensource operating systems are a niche market.
