I have a few questions regarding said announcement. Is this going to be an upgrade or new install? ie will I have to format my drive and start from scratch? Second. How many computers per household will this be available to. ie 1-3 or 1 per household?

Can you retain your Windows 7 or 8 while adding Windows 10 by "partitioning" your drive? (I have no clue of what I am saying.) This way you haven't burned your Windows 7 or 8 "bridge" and can go back again, if you desire.

I'm not sure about that, you mean a dual boot system? I don't see why not. Another option is to run it in a sandbox, with a program called virtuabox it's free

Yes, a salesman in the M$ store said you can do that if you want. He is doing it right now with a Beta W10 he has installed on his W7 PC. Said he likes W10. Said anyone buying a W8.1 PC now will get the free W10 version when it's released later this year.

Got to love the software business. When something does not work or work the way it is supposed to it is called a "bug" and looked at like something extraneous has caused a problem. In any other field it is called an error or fuck-up. We will no doubt tolerate quite a few in W10. Would you buy a new car that you had to shut off and restart all the time when it would not run properly? OK, rant over.
