The end is in sight: Windows 10 will be released on July 29 as a free download for anyone running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1; the free update will be available for a year.

I'm already running the eval and while there are a few bugs in it. I like the layout. The end is in sight indeed because I'm not going to pay for their next version lol. After this one gets 10yrs old don't know what I'm going to do. So everyone should take this once in a lifetime free offer, it's a pretty good deal. I would think about getting a second harddrive for those that are uncertain. Keep your original good copy close by or dualboot it. If you don't like it delete the second os or slap your original drive back in. Last but not least a virtual drive for test runs.

Will probably wait awhile for some of the bugs to be worked out of W10 than dual boot W10 with W7.
After all the price is right for W10......FREE......:thumb:

If I have to buy a second hard drive to install windows 10 then it's really not free, since there is an extra expense for me.

Well all drives are cheap now including SSDs.

If money it that tight, then just dual boot W10 on your existing drive if you don't want to buy another drive and it will be free....;)

I didn't specify that the "second/other" hard drive didn't have to be new. Tell me you don't have another hard drive lying around the house. And that's just for those who have cold feet and didn't want to take the plunge right away/totally. I personally have about 1/2 a dozen with various things on them. 1 for linux, photos, data, windows server etc.

It was only a suggestion, and yes woodie is right. 1t goes for about $60 nowadays

The only conceivable reason I can see to run a Winows box is to use an Oculus Rift....
