Win XP Question

Yes this is a boring thread, but maybe someone can help:

I have Win XP Pro on my home PC. As I'm the only one using it I don't want to have to login each time. Does anyone know how to tell Windows XP to stop asking for login, and just go straight to my desktop?

yes you can setup a new user that requires no password

But you will have to choose that user each time you start up

That's how I am, blank password, but it still prompts me. It's irritating. Thanks for getting back so fast.

Go to microsofts website and download tweak ui for windows XP.
After you install it there is a setting for autologon that you can select and it will automatically logon at bootup.

Lol, and that's exactly what Joker is trying to avoid, the bullshit of choosing/signing everytime he has to use the PC.

Why is it that everything "new and improved" always SUCKS? Windows XP is fancy but too bullshittious. I wish I could stick with Windows98 when I buy my next computer.

I regret having downloaded Kazaa's latest version, now I can't see images (pics) I download and the whole shit is slow.

Try the following Windows knowledge base article. If you are comfortable with editing the Windows registry you can set up the Windows autologon service. You will never have to enter your username or password again.

I am a IT professional and I have a Windows Domain at home. MY domain includes a Primary Domain Server and three workstations. I have the autologon service on all of the workstations.
