Heard something on the radio this morning about a rumor that is circulating that Tiger and Elin are moving to a private island somewhere near Sweeden. It got me to wondering if we would even see Tiger on the Tour in 2010. If he is really serious about fixing his marriage and dealing with his personal issues, what are the chances that he might skip the entire season? I say he won't be teeing off on the golf course anytime next year.

I hope they do move, they need to get away from all this shit, it's like a lynch mob from the midieval ages. I find the media coverage on this appalling, the guy is down and out, why does society continue to kick him in the head repeatedly trying to pummel him to death. He knows what he did wrong, they both do, they can either try to work it out or split, let them work it out. I just don't get it, why does society relish in seeing the slow and painful destruction of a human being.

Why do people insist on living vicariously through the lives of celebrities is the bigger question?

He will be back as he is too valuable a commodity as well he loves the competition like few others and his ego to be the best

His caddy should write a book then retire as no doubt he set up a lot of this at tigers request and now has nothing to do. Probably even scouted for girls. Tiger has had his dick sucked by hundreds is my guess

I read this morning that the PGA is now having a lot of problems getting sponsors for 9 of their tournaments on the tour this coming year. I also guess that the tour players are really worried now, without Tiger on the tour the purses won't be as big. Tiger really revolutionized the game from a player's income perspective whereby many players have become millionairs due to Tiger. This is a snowball effect, Tiger is probably the most influential athlete on his peers within their respective sport from an income perspective, he really raised the financial bar through increased gate reciepts and sponsorships.

Because every time you buy something with Tigers name on it you are paying 25% or more than its actual worth.

This guy made a brand out of himself and is now paying the price for showing the world that his brand is not what he and everyone else made it out to be. If he had half a brain in his head and absolutely had to poon on the side he could have done it much more discretely.

He used to be this god like figure to many and now when he walks on water he sinks to his knees!:D

I'm sure some of the boys will cheer him up in the locker room, just because he's such a nice guy-- especially Fuzzy who really likes Tiger.

He has truly shown his assh*le side ; not the screwing around but rather the "holier than thou" side.

If can still play golf, I'd still watch.

You forgot a "Who cares if he plays" option on the poll.

Really, he has been held up as some god-like creature and now that the count is at 11 women - and there will be more - things are crumbling down. Golf Digest is doing back-pedalling on the latest issue's front page ("What can Tiger teach Obama?"). The Golf Channel is doing all sorts of things to get out from the carnage.

He got caught with his "Pants down" and the perfect world of Tiger is over. Fans are seeing him as he really is.

Whether he plays of not, I don't care. I liked this past season when there was some true competition when he was out of contention or not playing. I think the other guys on the tour deserve a chance to shine.

Interestingly in a year when Phil (whom I am not a big fan of) has a wife and his mother both hit with breast cancer and he showed some real grit to support them - on and off the course and then Tiger does this! Phil is looking pretty good in the eyes of a lot golf fans right now.

Lessons Learned

I hope that they stay together, as illustrated over the past few weeks a GOOD woman is hard to find. Yes, even if it means that he does not play in the 2010 season.

To all up and coming young athletes, pay heed to the Lessons Learned.

I hope he does and I hope he plays better than ever. But I have concerns over Tiger's well-being. The reason he golfed so well is because he was stress-free. He was always pooning behind closed doors to take care of his normal male sex drive. Now that he's had to repent for his normal male behavior he's going to put the kibosh on his pooning. His golfing will suffer.

it's official he's taking indefinite leave from golf.
No real surprise! If he and his wife are serious about wanting to put their marriage back together it was the only option. Damn, I hate being right all the time.

Elin will soon learn that this means twice the husband and half the income. The guy is a money machine and she wants him to hang around the house? That didn't quite sound right, did it?

It's a PR move to help repair his image, it has nothing to do with actually wanting to put the marriage back together.

Heaven, definately Heaven
Tiger's INDEFINATELY LEAVING GOLF! He must have got socked in the nose by "his babe". Can't play with, I'm guessing, permanent facial injuries. Here comes the scalpel (and a long day at Plaza Entertainment Complex, 6th Floor, Bangkok, Thailand).

This is it.

Simple as that.

In fact, who cares if he ever does anything ever again. Anywhere.

He's got $ and the wherewithal to sort out his life discretely.

High profile figures come and go like headaches and diarrhea.

Then media turns into petty gossip mongers in order to sell more rags.

Do not feed this putrid circle of viciousness. Walk away and don't look back.

AP story confirming Tiger's indefinite leave from golf.

PGA obviously has to support him but privately they must be shitting bricks about the impact on fan support.

I bet the pigeons are going to come to roost with his endorsements now as well.

As allegations mount, Tiger Woods says he's taking 'indefinite' break from golf

Doug Ferguson, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Tiger Woods said Friday he is taking an indefinite leave from golf to work on saving his marriage, using the word "infidelity" for the first time in a statement posted on his website.

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf," Woods said. "I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person."

Woods and his wife, Elin, have been married five years and have a two-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son.

The announcement came two weeks after a car accident set in motion a shocking downfall for the world's No. 1 player, and included sordid allegations of numerous extramarital affairs. One woman even shared a voice mail she said Woods left her two nights before his Nov. 27 accident.

Woods hasn't been seen in public since the accident.

"I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children," Woods said. "I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try."

The PGA Tour said it supported the decision by its biggest star.

"His priorities are where they need to be, and we will continue to respect and honour his family's request for privacy," PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said in a statement, the tour's first public comment since Woods mentioned his "personal failings" on Dec. 2. "We look forward to Tiger's return to the PGA Tour when he determines the time is right for him."

The announcement by Woods raised the possibility, depending on how long he stays away from the game, that he could miss the Masters for the first time since he played as an amateur in 1995. The tournament is April 8-11.

One of Woods' favourite playing partners also said it was the right thing to do.

"I think it's great that he's going to put his family first and work things out," Steve Stricker said from Naples, Fla. "Golf will always be there. He wants to make sure his marriage is right and everything is good on the homefront. We'll sure miss him on tour until he gets things taken care of."

It will be the second straight season the PGA Tour begins without its No. 1 player, although this is different. A year ago, he was out of golf for eight months while recovering from reconstructive knee surgery, and television ratings dropped 50 per cent during his absence.

"We knew before he was coming back," Stricker said. "Now we're not sure when he's coming back. But this sounds good. I hope everything works out for him."

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, told The Associated Press that he supports Woods' decision to take time off for his family.

"The entirety of someone's life is more important than just a professional career," Steinberg said in an email to the AP. "What matters most is a young family that is trying to cope with difficult life issues in a secluded and caring way. Whenever Tiger may return to the game should be on the family's terms alone."

Addressing the subject of Woods' sponsors, Steinberg said that "it would be both premature and inappropriate to comment on the status of specific business relationships.

"Suffice it to say, we have had thoughtful conversations and his sponsors have been open to a solution-oriented dialogue," he said. "Of course, each sponsor has unique considerations and ultimately the decisions they make we would fully understand and accept."

Earlier this year, Woods became the world's first athlete to surpass US$1 billion in career earnings, according to Forbes magazine. His sponsors include Nike, Gillette, AT&T, Accenture and Tag Heuer.

Well, he should. His whole life since he was a very little kid was focused on being the best golfer in the world, thanks or not thanks to his father depending on your point of view. Of all the pro golfers on the tour, Tiger would be the last one who I think could simply walk away.
