I'm not happy if the Leafs have to play them in the playoffs. We got a guy of his ilk in Tucker. However, I think that a pitch could of been made by JFJ to do better. Smyth would of looked nice with Tucker and Peca.

It was reported that they did make a pitch but at the time they didn't know a deal to the Isles was close.

But really how can they match what the Isles gave up (3 1st rd picks)? Plus they don't have 5-6 million in cap space to resign him anyways so why throw 3 young players/picks away for a rent a player. Don't the Leafs have like 30 mil tide up in Kaberle, McCabe, Kubina, Sundin, Tucker?
