They had no body, and the police arrested him prematurely, due to intense pressure to solve the case, then head to release him due to lack of evidence,. He made various statements admitting to varying degrees of involvement in her death, which only added to the confusion. Had he not tried to extort the family to provide information about her remains, and had he not killed someone else, he probably would’ve gotten away with Natalee’s murder. This guy was a real piece of work — also was involved in sex trafficking of women to Thailand.
