I can't think of any reputable Republicans who will

But, I would also say that AOC or MTG have no shot at being president. As I've said in other threads, the US voting block is more misogynistic than anything else apparently. That explains why Obama was able to get two terms and Hillary and Kamala were not...

I think AOC is smart and a good communicator. And, I am jaded about the US in many ways. I just don't know if she would have snowballs chance in hell to run and win. I mean, she's been in office since 2019, and over the past six or seven years, Fox and the right-wing media has done EVERYTHING they can to diminish her and demean her. I think they do fear her. But, I also know that Hillary was crucified even before she had a thought about running for public office. She was the first First Lady to be subjected to so much bullshit. Laura Bush was never subjected to that sort of scrutiny and attacks. And, while Hillary was far from an ideal candidate, she was painted in such a negative light back then that I know it probably hurt her during her presidential run...
I agree that being a woman, a Latina woman to boot, would have no chance of winning a presidential race in the US. Even though she would do a hell of a better job than Trump. The Dems have to go with your typical white male this time around. A younger one, but must be a white male to secure getting rid of the trash that is occupying the Whitehouse today.
AOC's ceiling as a politician is Senator perhaps a member of cabinet. Sadly, using Hilary and Kamala as evidence, too much of America is still backwards, unwilling to consider a strong, intelligent woman with strong opinions on many subjects. They'll elect a clown instead that literally wants to rule them like a king. Gavin Newsom or someone like him will wind up their 2028 presidential candidate IMO.
Mamdani ran against two awful candidates, and also came across as a breath of fresh air after the Eric Adams 'mayoral' experience. It was a perfect storm for him in a civil election.
