Couldn't get the link to work so I did a search on his name and found a CNN article on this issue. I thought an interesting quote was:
"If a person said, `I'm not opposed to war, but I'm opposed to the Iraq war,' they would not qualify," said Louis Hiken, an attorney with the Military Law Task Force of the National Lawyers Guild."
I think it's a bit difficult for someone who has volunteered for military service to claim to be a conscientious objector - although I'm not a lawyer.
