Who's is looking after our Nuclear Reactors? Could COVID-19 cause another Chernobyl?

I wonder if any thought has gone into extra protection for those running our nuclear facilities? If those highly specialized resources go down with infection and cannot report to work, leaving the operation of our systems and decision-making to lesser skills and experience, could we potentially be opening the door to another Chernobyl-like accident right here in North America?

IIRC Canada's reactors require active measures to increase output, if power is cut to the system governing the reactor; the reactor will "poison" itself and the further nuclear reactions stop.

Thinking that these things run themselves and are virtually accident-proof feels on the surface to be a bit of a stretch. Would hope there are automated checks and balances in place, but not sure you could safely take the educated and experienced human element out of the equation and still be worry-free.

I am not saying they are accident proof, just saying that a failure like chernobly is not possible or very very slim.

During Chernobyl, a number of people volunteered to die to prevent the situation from becoming CATASTROPHICALLY WORSE.
If it were to EVER get to that point again, I'm sure there will be some heroes.
