Online oddsmakers taking bets on the source of cocaine found in the U.S. White House have lined up at least one potential culprit with ties to the first family.

Vegas odds published overnight by online bookmaker SportsBetting have Hunter Biden — the troubled son of U.S. President Joe Biden — as the 2-to-1 favourite, as of Wednesday morning.
The United States Secret Service briefly evacuated the White House Sunday evening after a baggie of white powder was discovered in a publicly accessible area of the presidential mansion.
In a statement, the Secret Service described the evacuation as precautionary, and the DC fire department was called in to help identify the powder.
The evacuation order was lifted after preliminary tests identified the substance as cocaine.
The Bidens spent Independence Day weekend at Camp David before returning to Washington to take in Fourth of July fireworks.

The president’s 53-year-old son has a prolific history of illicit drug addiction, documented in his 2021 autobiography where he described several cycles of sobriety followed by relapse.
In February 2014, Hunter was discharged from the U.S. Navy Reserve after testing positive for cocaine — less than a year after he was commissioned as an ensign in the public affairs office.

On Sunday, the New York Post reported on photos reportedly recovered from Hunter Biden’s infamous abandoned laptop, purportedly showing him smoking crack behind the wheel of a car in 2018, while driving through a neighbourhood in Arlington, Va.

A separate January 2019 photo recovered from the laptop depicted the dashboard of a Porsche travelling 172 miles per hour while en route to Las Vegas.
Also making the odds board is Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who accompanied members of his team on a June visit to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl win.
Kelce is garnering 8-to-1 odds as of Wednesday morning.
Kelce wasn’t the only Kansas City team member named.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is tied with Matthew McConaughey and Selena Gomez at 25-to-1, while team coach Andy Reid is currently pulling 100-to-1 odds.
James Gardner, an oddsmaker with SportsBetting, told National Post that Biden’s drug history — plus his access to the White House — made him a natural pick as favourite.

“I’m afraid Hunter puts himself into the frame as a pretty strong candidate,” he said.
Gardner said names were chosen based on their recent access to the White House.
Action on the betting has so far been brisk, he said — as well as divisive.
“People are taking pretty strong views on Hunter, saying he should be 10-to-1 not 2-to-1,” he said.
“But it’s interesting to see the way people are going with it all.”
The list also includes one of the Jonas Brothers at 10-to-1, actress Angelina Jolie and her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt tied at 12-to-1, TV star Ariana Madix and rapper Snoop Dogg, both with 16-to-1 odds, and celebrity chef Edward Lee at 18-1.
Also tied at 14-to-1 odds are the Louisiana State University women’s basketball team and the University of Connecticut’s men’s basketball team — both paid a visit to the White House in late May after winning NCAA national championships.
Assorted longshots include heiress Paris Hilton at 33-to-1 odds, famed quarterback Tom Brady at 50-to-1, first lady Jill Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi both tied at 100-to-1, and President Biden at 150-to-1.
Who would you bet on based on the above odds? I like Angelina Jolie at 12-1.
