Since I have been in Canada, the one thing I miss the most are the Whisky Bars in Japan.
Are there such things in Toronto?
If you don't know what a whisky bar is, it is a bar that serves single malt whisky, sherry and cognacs.
The best are the rare whisky's you find and get to tast, without spending a lot of money on these bottles, if you find them!
So does anyone know such a place in TO!

I don't really know
There's a whiskey bar in the underground by bay and king area - forgot the name

When I was a suit, I use to stop by and have a drink once in a while

A pub called Feathers (on Kingston Road, nearing Victoria Park, right next to a pool hall) has one of the best selection of whiskies I've seen outside of Scotland, with names you just can't find here... they claim over 800, I believe, but I have yet to verify....

Best regard,

F.

Fortunato is correct about Feathers

Feathers is a nice pub with no attitude! Ask for scotch menu, it's fun to read
and sample, about 300 flavours. All terbites are smart, so if you go to
Feathers: ttc, cab, designated driver. Those scotches! wow!

Another surprising place is Kilgours pub on Bloor strip (near Lees Palace,
Dooney's greeenP, Paupers). About 10 - 20 scotches, seemingly based on
what's new at LCBO, probably best prices in city and if you ask they'll bring
you the scotch book - everything you wanted to know with pictures. I had
an excellent Ardbeg for ~$7 that was ~$30 at downtown hotel bar. Also, no
attitude! I'm harping but when you go scotch sampling it's nice to be treated totally normal.

Fazooli's perhaps not the biggest but indeed good selection. Good food too (slight over-price). Try the garlic bread. Place is busy club nights Thur - Sat with non-club crowd.

Canada
watering holes

It doesn't have a huge selection, but it's a very nice list all the same, and if you like atmosphere and visuals, my favourite is Bymark, (the bar of course, not the restaurant). Not cheap but I say go big or stay home.
