Article in the Star ranks which Toronto team will win a championship first (or next, depending on how you want to look at it).
As the author does, with apologies I too will exclude the Argonauts, Rock or any other team outside of the big three in T.O.
So place your vote and share your rationale. Who will enjoy a championship parade first, the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays or Raptors?
Personally, i think it's even money between the Jays and Raps. The Jays are in a better position right now, but the competition is very deep. I think the Raps are still aways off, but with the small rosters, a quick turnaround is more likely, especially given the Colangelo hire and the cap flexibility the Raps have, plus a young star (Bosh), and promising player like Villuneva and others with potential (Graham, Calderone and whoever they draft).
I will give the slight edge to the Jays, but if the Raps sign Bosh to a long-term deal, they might move-up.
The Leafs, I'm afraid to say, need a lot of work, and now that they're handcuffed by the cap, they can't go out and buy talent the way they used to. They're my longshots.

I consider the Argos to be in the so-called Big Three ahead of the Blue Jays.
Certainly, attendance at games would indicate many others agree with me.
Therefore I cast my vote for the Boatmen.

The Boatmen and The Rock are the two teams in Toronto that best represent the best of.

I like what the Blue Jays have done this year, they are showing the city and the fans that they are serious... but will it be enough.

The Raptors this year have set themselves up for the future, they should be 2 or 3 years away from being a serious contender if Colangelo can work his magic as in the past.

The Leafs... well not much to say about this bunch of underachieving babies

Can i vote for none of the above. There are only 2 successful sports teams in Toronto--The Rock and The Argonauts.

Leafs/Jays?Raptors will never win anything, EVER

The Argos are probably not listed in the poll because they would be the obvious choice. I'd say the Jays based on what they have done to improve.

Thank you GlavaMan. Apparently my explaining the Argos and Rock exclusion in my post was a bit too subtle for some. I am sticking to big three North American professional sports. With all due respect to the Argos and Rock, who do Toronto proud, I, like the author of the Star piece, am limiting the options to the Leafs, Raps and Jays.
Interesting that the Leafs got a few votes, but no one has chosen to explain their thinking in that vote, because I see us Leaf fans waiting another 38 years for a Stanley Cup.

Jays`

Leafs will never win because they don't need to win to make money. Lots of money. (Remember, $$$ is what it's about... Bread and circuses!)
And that will never change because the corporate ticket holders will never boycott the team. You'd have to care to join a boycott.

Raps have a chance over time but it's a talented league and very hard to be anything but one of the best to win. If the dollar goes back to 70 cents, forget the Raps.

Jays have the best chance because it's possible to be mediocre overall and win in baseball with the wild card and a good little streak of decent pitching meeting bad hitting. Remember in baseball it's essentially one on one.
