Try Limewire or WinMx.

I use limewire quite frequently. No problems. The data base isnt as good as the old Napster. I've heard Kazaa is loaded with spyware and other demons.

Limewire is great, but...

The Recording Artist cops are on the prowl.

They have a tendency to stuff these sites, Kazaa, Limewire, etc. with fake copies of the song you want.

What happens is from your software, everything looks legit.

Then when you play it, you get 25 minutes of static.

Limewire seems to be the best at detecting fakes, but it's not perfect.

You may need to download several different copies of the same song before you get a version you can live with.

 If you like it why don't you buy it....not steal it!
If someone likes the job YOU do, don't they pay you for it? Same for musicians.

I have little symapthy for record companies these days. They cling onto their mega profits and call downloaders unethical.

MEANWHILE, they manipulate radio play (payola) by bribing radio stations, for years. This creates a completely unfair playing field for all artists. J-Lo can buy her way to the top.

They also buy their own records by the thousands to climb the charts.

It's all f*****g BS.

We also pay a surtax on recordable media. The surtax is supposed to go to pay royalties for what we copy on it. So, despite the fact that we are paying royalties, we are still 'stealing'? What country!

And I have little sympathy for the musicians.

Paid tens of millions dollars for looks more than talent. Most of the songs are mixed by someone else with audio editing software.

And they want $15 for a CD with one or two good songs out of 17?

And when they're not "working", they're knee deep in groupies, banging them non-stop in the Presidential Suite of 5 star hotels.

Who knows how many have been illegitimately impregnated? Like a Rock Star is going to make a good father?

So no, I have no problem downloading music from Limewire or any of these other Peer to Peer sites.
