You know those "100 experiments" kits that teach you about electronics? Where can I buy one of them (not online). I have a long weekend, and am dying to learn!

Depends on what you want to do though, they have kits for mini robots, clocks, amplifiers, radios, lasers, all kinds of stuff....

The Source would be a good place to check ... you can see what they have online and check where they have local stock. When they were Radio Shack they tons of stuff like that.
Ah...this brings back some serious memories. I had one of these kits as a kid; I set-up a little trip alarm on my bedroom door in case the dog wandered in during the middle of the night. Within two days I took the damn thing down.
I also had a chemistry set where no matter what experiment and instructions I followed, the result was always the same...rotten eggs!!!

The kits will teach you basic electronics, you will be able to make basic circuits. You wil learn of how electronics were like 20 - 25 years ago. The future of electronic design is in small intergrated circuits, these are not designed to be services or modified.
It all goes back to basics............The integrated circuits are just smaller versions of the old ones.
Nothing is better than ladder and relay logic when it comes to understanding electronics.
Kits are so limiting.
Just find a good book and grab a breadboard, jumper wires, batteries, toolkit, multimeter and a handful of components at the nearest surplus shop.
