Where can I learn how to draw?

I've always wanted to learn how to draw, but do not know where I can learn. Does anyone know where I can take drawing classes? The location must be close to downtown, offer classes for absolute beginners, and be affordable (less than $1000 per year).

High schools or colleges have evening courses for various art subjects at reasonable costs. There are some life drawing classes that have live models.
Try George Brown, the Ontario College of Art or the local high school.

It's a good way to meet people as well.
