Where can I get Windows 7 now?

I have an old laptop using Vista and want to at least upgrade it to Windows 7. I don't want to move to Win8 as I know there are bound to be more compatibility issues. The question is, where can I now get a copy of Win7 legally, now that MS doesn't sell it anymore? Thanks in advance.

I switched from Vista to Linux on my laptop. Wouldn't Windows 7 still be available at most electronics retailers?

i found a copy on craigslist for 60$. 7 ultimate and you can use it on as many computers as you want. of course it is pirated but a legit copy for sure. i have used it on 3 separate computers now and thinking about deleting win8 off my new one and putting 7 on.

Are any of the 3 computers hooked up to the Internet? Do you have a product key?
all of them are and one was my main computer up until i got the new one. it came with several product keys but the instructions by passed it. for 2 months it was fine, then for a month you had to click that you were aware it was unregistered and that you agree you may be a victim of software piracy. then it shut off for a day. now it works beautifully but it won't get updates anymore. i could easily just delete it and reinstall it again if i wanted updates.

You need to delete one of the KBxxxxx updates and to re-arm Windows. Google it.

Was in Sam's Club last week and all the flavors of W7 were still there.

Been playing around with W8 and it really ain't that bad. Takes a little adjusting to. Hit the desktop icon or the Windows key and you get a W7 look. Once you go into, computer, control panel, etc., the guts of W8 are pretty much the same as W7 with a little modification.....

That said I still prefer Linux which just ROCKS!......

ok thanks at least the op has somewhere to look. Depends on his budget. But as you said takes a little to adjust to, fuck that. 7 just works the way windoze users are familiar with. No disrespect,

Woodie, I think thunderballs either didn't do any homework, or he/she is seeking the "other version" either way. I'm not touching that. LOL, but I hope not lol

Vista is rock solid!
Don't know why he wants to dump it. Still have Vista on a 5 yr old Toshiba laptop and in runs fine but Linux runs better.....;)
If I were him, I'd just stick with Vista till W9 is released.....lol.

XP remains the MOST popular OS worldwide

Support for Windows XP is ending on April 8, 2014........unless M$ extends it again.....

Well then it's not a legit copy of Windows then is it? Why would anyone pay for a pirated copy? The whole point of having a legit product key is so you can keep it updated.
