I’m with bruised. His response basically sums up mine. If I were to book a day in advance I may not feel like it anymore. I hate to cancel and so I don’t. Therefore I have to stick with same day.
Glad to hear that I am not alone with last minute bookings and didn't realize how common it is. I usually try to book after I have left the house, transitioning between work and appointments or other hobbies. This leaves me with just a one to three hour window to find a provider and complete a session. Like many in this forum, I have to be discreet and I am unable to book ahead of time for a couple of reasons. As some of you stated, the anticipation of an advanced booked creates a sense of excitement. That, for me, I'm certain would change my behaviour around my SO, colleagues etc. and would cause me serious anxiety. And I'd hate to cancel last minute because of a change in my schedule, my mood or just getting cold feet. Canceling wouldn't be fair to any provider. Having read the all comments, I will continue to try to book well in advance as best as I can.
