When an SP on your TDL goes MIA or retires

I've seen many threads where some hobbyist is searching for a certain SP on a TDL or to repeat, only to find out she left the agency or disappeared from the scene. I think the stint of an SP is relatively short lived in most cases and if you don't hook up with her sooner rather than later, she will leave the biz and then you lose the opportunity to ever experience her. There are some who have been in the business for a few years but they're not going to be doing this indefinitely and the younger ones don't stay long at all as they go on to pursue other things in life, so better to gather ye rosebuds while ye may.
So in view of all this, I'm wondering why some of you wait so long and didn't see her in a reasonable time frame, when she was active?

As well as the above, further, in some cases because the hobbyist is only occasionally in Toronto

Ding, ding ding. The intersection of those ladies that you want to see schedule's, your availability, and the agency's ability/willingness to pre-book can often be a savagely limiting factor.
