What's the worst that could happen if my building's security/management (a) suspected or (b) knew that I was seeing escorts in my apartment??

Do I have a right to do whatever I want as long as i'm not disturbing anyone with noise, or am I a slave to the building's "standards"??

Today, for instance I had an appointment and the lady arrived at my door with the info slip in plain view I.e. (with my apartment # and access code listed) - anyone could have glanced at it while she was on her way up. I asked her to keep it in her pocket next time.
Then she told me she didn't have cab fare so I gave it to her and she had to go all the way downstairs and come back up again...(lovely)... Is that blatantly obvious she is an escort or am I over reacting?? I wonder if mgt. have a "radar" for that sort of thing...

My personal take on this situation

I think it would be nice to mention the SP/agency about the sensitivity of such issues. Personally, I think it depends how much do you care for what people think of you. If you don't care about what your neighbors may think of you then you don't have to worry about anything.

Timing may be another factor. If you invite an SP in the night then not many can see that she was carrying a slip with her. Among another factors may be the frequency at which different SPs visit your apartment. If people start seeing 2 or more different girls walking in and out of your apartment every month with an average stay of 1-2 hours then you will remove all of their doubts.

If your neighbors don't see you in the eyes or appear jealous then I would say they already have their doubts.

The thing is..I've seen her before, and everytime she's got that slip on her...a friend would probably clue in and not need the info after the first time or so.

I had asked her to dress casually, which she did last time I.e. jeans etc. but today it was semi-casual: Black short sleeve top, black pants, high heels. Sunday afternoon is not a typical time to be dressed up for a night on the town.

I am glad that she did this to you. A typical SP is less likely to do this. If a woman does this to you then people are more likely to think she knows you very well. Atleast that is what I think. I am presuming that the cab fare was deducted from her service fees, however.

BTW.... It's not that I care what the neighbours think...I don't, actually. The only thing i'm concerned about is the possibility that somehow, someone will catch on and report my activities to the management, who could then (in my opinion - please correct me if I'm wrong) take punitive action. I don't want to be evicted - that's all.

I don't think you will be evicted

If you don't make noise after 10 PM then you don't have to worry about getting evicted. As long as you pay rent in time and don't damage the apartment and have loud noise parties, you should be OK. You may have to put up with strange looks by neighbors once in a while. That's all. What you do inside your apartment is nobody's business.

As far as safety goes, I don't think you'll 'EVER get in trouble at having an escort come over as long as she behaves.

However, with respect to your building security - they know. When I owned a condo downtown the security personnel were allowed to use the gym facilities and we talked a couple of times. They openly joked about so and so having escorts come by. And this was in a building with more than 500 units. Especially if you see escorts on a semi-regular basis, trust me, they know.

You have very little to worry about from the staff:

The door jockeys probably know... they are often nosy buggers.. .but the management probably has no clue, and they won't ever know unless there is a tenant complaint, or as mentioned before, some damage or late rent issues.

Really, another tenant is your biggest concern.

The security and door jockeys are very fond of noticing every woman, girl or female part of any sort... because they are bored out of their skulls.

I know several women who complain about the unwanted "extra attention" they get from security... frequent comments on their attire, noticing new boyfriends, etc etc. It simply bothers them to know they are being actively watched.

Guys will have very few problems like this, unless of course you have pretty lady friends... then you too will be watched because you are linked to girls the security can watch.

Wierd, but true. I guess one can sympathize with them because of the boredom, but personaly I dislike those guys and their abuse of the tiny little morsel of power they have.

The burden of proof is too high for management to do anything to you, and the embarrassment for them is there as well.

Actually, as was mentioned previously, I deducted the cost of the cab fare from her fee. BTW...it was an honest mistake on her part, and yes - she is an EXCEPTIONALLY pretty 20 yr old. I hit the jackpot with this one!
