I will explain. The intended joke was the juxtaposition of the importance of a relationship versus the relative triviality of transitory pleasures such as specific foods, activities. Of course it was 'artificial'. Perhaps I was too subtle. Would adding a "hee hee hee" have helped?

For the record, I am not about to leave my wife for a block of cheddar.

But thank you for the smug commentary and relationship advice.
