She's Canadian but I've never heard of her. Apparently she's a big YouTube star that just got a late night show on NBC. I've never seen anything so blatantly based solely on identity politics. There's absolutely nothing funny or redeeming here. Each clip is literally a series of "I'm gay, I'm a woman, I'm oppressed, I'm a minority, I'm Indian, white men bad" on repeat. This is woke humor at its zenith. Sheer peak wokeness. There's no way this show won't get canceled. It's 100% cringe.

I'm not a fan of her either, I don't think her jokes are funny. It just reminds people how shit their lives are, the ones who aren't privilege. This is not WOKE, it's stupidity. It's Ok for her she got rich and famous from it.

She originally used to post real funny shit like why Brown Girls like White Guys, however has since deleted any controversial content on her YouTube. I followed her from the beginning and saw her transformation. She gained her fame due to her authenticity, however now she is exactly the opposite.
She grew up in Scarborough and then moved to LA to try acting, however she failed at that. She is connected to popular underground Toronto influencers like humble the poet and SicKick, and as a result of her perceived authenticity and fame is very famous in India. Humble the poet is known to be woke and helped her gain that authenticity due to their friendship.
She is not woke maybe just someones rook. It’s interesting that dynamics, how she gained the silent masses trust due to her authenticity and relatability only to have someone exploit it and turn it on its head. Looks like money made her into the thing that she stood against.

“Woke” and comedy are fundamentally incompatible. Half the point of comedy is to be edgy and to say things that inflame. It’s not that you’re trying to be nasty and hurt people’s feelings, but the greats in comedy have always been the ones who can make you think about an issue by framing it in a way that’s both shocking as well as humorous. To have to walk on eggshells and censor yourself completely eliminates the possibility of that. Absolutely no one wants to watch people complain about how they’re oppressed and be shamed and preached at for 30 minutes or an hour. Why would they? People watch comedy shows to laugh, not to feel shitty about themselves.
I mean, I get that we have issues in our society. Maybe some groups have a little more than they should, maybe others have a little less. That’s fine, and we can work towards making that better, but most of the stuff these people complain about, these “microaggressions”, are so trivial that they’re really just nitpicking. It just becomes a giant circlejerk of people bitching about completely minor things. Like, again, I don’t want to downplay legitimate issues, but so often the complaints these people have are things that are minor annoyances at worst. If you’re so fragile that a barista not spelling being able to spell your Indian name right sends to into a full-on PTSD-induced panic attack, maybe you’re the one with the problem, not everyone else.

See, to me, this is all just narcissism. People thinking that they’re so important that the entire world needs to change to accommodate their needs RIGHT NOW. Things didn’t used to be this way, used to be if you were in a wheelchair or something, you just couldn’t go waterskiing or whatever. People accepted that. Waterskiing requires the use of your legs, if you can’t use your legs, you can’t waterski. Now, if someone can’t use their legs, people will demand that no one should be allowed to waterski, because it’s unfair to the people in wheelchairs who can’t do it. This is insanity, because literally everything will have some people who can’t participate for some reason or another, so we’ll get idiots demanding that everything be banned. Once again, narcissism. People thinking they’re so important that the world has to bend over backwards (or perhaps forwards...) for them.

Sure but it wouldn't surprise me if critics praise this show just like they praised that Hustlers movie starring a washed up J-Lo. The same critics that denounced and condemned a much funnier, and infinitely more talented Dave Chappelle. We all know it's because of social activism rather than the quality of the content. Fake news... is real.
Her timing on the punchlines was off for most of her bits and that audience laughter was canned. A year tops unless something changes.....
