This past week I was charged $35.00 for banking fees. I've never paid banking fees in the 30 odd years I've banked with TD. They continue to raise their minimum balances and fees. On my account the minimum balance is now $3,000. My balance fell below $3,000 during the month thus the fees. What you found as the best option for banking? Credit Unions? Virtual Banks (Tangerine, PC Financial)

If you've dealt with TD for 30 years you've shown them loyalty. See the manager and demand a reversal of that service fee and have them absorb all service fees on your account. Play hard ball, most banks don't want to lose customers.

^ Good advice.

If they don't play ball, I like PC for my cheap banking option.

Tangerine no fee chq account. Tangerine allows very high POS and cash withdrawal limits (over $1000 per day) PC financial's limits are very low. $500 per day. I have both.
