I have a friend who is a part time escort in Montreal. She plans on coming to Ottawa for few days. She filed for bankruptcy 2 years ago and now she can't have a credit card. She wants to come work in Ottawa for 3 or 4 days in a decent hotel. Do you know some decent hotels that do not require a credit card? She is a nice girl and I promised to help her get to Ottawa. You will like her I am sure.

As far as I know, most of the decent and even slightly decent hotels in the city require a credit card. She can however, apply for a Visa debit card(Money Mart works for this) and some hotels will accept this(though not all).

They don't do a credit check or anything, you just apply and get it, but you have to put the money on the card to use it.
A good portion of the hotels won't accept it either, but the ones that I know do is the Lord Elgin, Hotel Indigo(but sometimes their computer has issues with it), and the Extended Stay.

The Extended Stay also accepts cash and debit to pay for rooms, but that's the only one I know of.

some decent hotel will require you to pay up front or 100/200 deposit to get a room. No credit card is not a problem. the one I know is hilton hotel by Gatineau just 10 Mins drive from ottawa downtown. It also has a nice casino downstairs.

My friend always use her debit card or cash in Niagara or Toronto.Embassy suits , Hilton etc... They just hold 50 or 100$ deposit and that's all but transfered back after 3-5 businessdays. Use booking.com because they don't ask credit card number for reservation. Go to the hotel with the booking number and cash or debit always work. I'm sure about it.

Booking.com does require a credit card for reservation unless it says specifically that the hotel doesn't need one.

I'm not sure if Toronto is the same as Ottawa, because I know from experience a big portion of downtown hotels will not let you pay without a major credit card.

She could also try Airbnb for hosting. You're taking a risk with not knowing if the condo will be good for this or discreet, but it's quite cheap and I've had some great condos in Ottawa through there that worked perfectly, and they accept many different forms of payment.
