What actually constitutes "retirement"?

My turn to ask a question. What defines retirement in your mind?

1) Retirement from the "hobby" means not seeing mps/sps and not posting on terb?
2) Retirement from the "hobby" means not seeing mps/sps and continuing to post on terb?
3) Retirement from the "hobby" means not seeing multiple mps/sps and only seeing one mp/sp?

I notice that some sps have retired and continue to post. Why is that OK for them but not for the "ex clients""? Some guys have been ridiculed for saying that they are retiring, then return to post a short while later. That appears to be a double standard to me.

To me, "hobbying" and posting are two separate things. If I've found what I've been searching for :D (many said that it was not possible), and I still want to banter with people on the board, why isn't that acceptable to some?

I agree Magic... hobbying and posting are two different issues completely. However it would be difficult to read a great review of a new young gem in the area and not be tempted to "unretire".

My definition of retirement from this hobby would be defined as never paying for sex again.

Gas or ass, nobody rides for free. "Never" paying for sex ? Taking someone out to dinner, buying gifts etc all constitutes "payment" for sex (maybe not in upfront CASH only).:D

I totally agree with what both of you are saying, BUT I don't consider the women outside of the industry as part of hobbying. With all due respect to the two of you, this thread was about retiring from the hobby, Calloway's thought still rings true for me.

I have to agree that Calloway is right on the money on this one.

MMofM... did I miss something? Does this mean that you are now "retired" ??? If yes, my best wishes to you for success.
Not to worry Indy, not as of yet. I'm just curious on people's viewpoint on this.
When I did try and retire back near the beginning of the year, I got all sorts of flack when I came back to post.
When I do retire, I won't be so silly next time as to announce it on the board. I'll just freakin disappear, lol! :D

BTW, you want me to give Jak anything from you?

Hammertm, unlike us ol' 'baby boomers,' you're way too young to retire.

Besides, you're the "king." Where would we be without your encyclopedic knowledge and groundbreaking list of informative reviews.
