As nice as it is. Rick James probably put the "Shag" back in the Shag Carpet. Would take a lot of steam cleaning to get the funk and Super Freak DNA out of the place.
My dream home is my modest almost 60 years old 1800 sf 2 storey house in the west end GTA burbs I presently live in.
Close to work, and not too far from a lot of peeler clubs.
I paid off the mortgage when I was 48, almost a decade ago now.
Kept up the cash flow from wages going after the mortgage was gone.
Pointed it into investments.
Those should allow me to retire in a year or two.
I am down to 3 days of work a week at present and wife is already retired.
So why lust after something that I would need to work longer for.
Palmerston Boulevard in the Annex in Toronto. Without a doubt.
I can only picture it as the "right" house. One that has a good aesthetically interesting exterior and one that I could gut the interior and do it however I like.
3 floors, high ceilings, dry basement, nice sized yard.
the plan is to buy some acreage about 30min away from the nearest building supply store in a province other than bc or on. off grid, panels, water catching system, a wood stove and a greenhouse to grow food. this would be surrounded by a shipping container wall that is about 100x100 space. steel gate to drive though built into the shipping container. passive solar heating. compostable toilet.
Ill build it myself out off local materials. possibly incorporating earth ship building practices without the tire structure.
