MPP Roman Baber disagreed with Fords insane Covid policies and as a result was kicked out of the Ontario Conservatives and now joins Hillier as an independant

Today he tables a new Act for other MPPs to put their money where their mouths are

He is calling on all members of parliament to take huge pay cuts while covid crisis continues

An Ontario MPP who was recently kicked out of Premier Doug Ford's caucus for calling lockdowns "deadlier than COVID" is now introducing a private member's bill that would slash MPP salaries to $500 per week so elected officials can "appreciate the consequences" of shutdowns.

That "we're all in this together" feel good fluff phrase repeatedly bantered around like a cult chant by all western governments, especially during the beginning months, always made me cringe hearing it. It implies everyone is experiencing hardship equally and that's been the furthest thing from the truth.

I mean I may not totally agree with his stance on the lockdowns but to stand up and make politicians accountable and let them make choices that will also impact them directly.

Losing 2K a month probably wouldn’t mean much to them but it means so much to others. The divide between the rich and the poor.

The counter motion was kinda silly since he already HAD tabled a bill to cut his own salary (would have cut ALL MPPs)

It just makes Fords cronies look petty and vindictive

And as Jen posted above lets be honest, for some of these multimillionaires to make a few thousand less has very little impact
Take Ford himself; his daddys company is the sole maker for all the millions of covid signs and stickers being forced into retailers windows, floors, and walls during the pandemic. He is making a killing off those stupid "stand behind this line" stickers at local grocery store.

Doug Fords dad is dead (September 22, 2006), not making much profit from covid.
Doug Ford Jr listed as 100% owner of U.S. based Chicago Deco.
Randy Ford listed as 100% owner of Canadian based Deco Labels & Flexible Packaging.
Deco Labels & Flexible Packaging does not make covid signs or stickers, reference the website https://decolabels.com/.
There seems to be this claim every time a sign comes out that Deco is making it even though they haven't, remember the "Ontario open for business signs".
Twitter said they were made by DECO but MPP Jim Wilson proved they weren't.

You are referencing a code of conduct complaint from 2014 against then mayor Rob Ford and councilor Doug Ford for trying to persuade customers of a company, named Donnelley Canada (this company was seeking to review and takeover part of the city’s $9-million in-house printing operation), to switch their business over to Deco printing which Rob Ford owned at the time. Also “Mayor Rob Ford and his councillor brother Doug Ford helped one of the customers of their family business to lobby the city’s highest ranking bureaucrat for a special property tax break and repeatedly intervened with city staff without disclosing the company had a commercial relationship with the Ford family. They were both found guilty of these charges, no money went from the City of Toronto to Deco printing.

Please show a current link to where Deco is supplying anything to the City of Toronto, let alone the fact that they as you said " are the sole maker for all the millions of covid signs and stickers being forced into retailers windows, floors, and walls during the pandemic."
The company I work for must have got their signs off of the black market, In the bottom right corner it says "PRINTED BY JETSIGNS"
