Same speculation as reported in the media. Anyway we still don't know who is the murderer or the motive nor do I want to speculate.
Nail salons have been known to be fronts for the sex trade (not saying this is the case here).

I don't know for certain if there is or isn't a maniac on the loose. I only mentioned it as a possibility. I try to keep an open mind.

The police are making some progress in this case. They have identified the victim.
However, her murderer (a maniac who partially dismembered her body) is still on the loose.
Her son, who police are saying is not a suspect at this time, is missing.
BTW: Not saying this is the case here, but it is not unusual for a nail salon to be a front for sex trafficking.

I had never heard that. Front as in they service clients in the back or front as in they launder the proceeds through it?
I only know what I read. I do not frequent nail salons. Check my links in an earlier post (reposted below). The articles talk about the U.S. and U.K. experience which I think would also apply to Canada as well (logical assumption).
The story of this lady has been constantly in the news since her body was discovered on Monday. Even Mayor Tory made a brief comment about it to-day.

As another member mentioned, the son of Miss Ly in this case has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder. The police were initially concerned for the safety of the son.
Steve Ryan (CP24) said, based on his experience as a former homicide detective, that the son might suffer from mental heath issues.
