Warren Moon Denies Assistant's Allegations of Sexual Harassment

JOSEPH ZUCKER
DECEMBER 21, 2017

Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon denied allegations he sexually harassed a former assistant who had worked for Sports 1 Marketing, a company Moon co-founded.

"I know this subject of harassment and assault and different things in the workplace by women is a very serious subject right now," Moon said in an interview on KIRO Radio in Seattle (h/tESPN.com). "And a lot of women have held a lot of these feelings in for a long time, and are coming out and expressing these feelings, and they should be applauded for that. And I applaud those women for doing that. But in this particular situation, in my case, it just doesn't apply."

Moon told the radio station he had witnesses who would corroborate his claims.

Moon also alleged in an interview with USA Today's Jarrett Bell that the accuser, Wendy Haskell, asked for a $3 million payout in return for staying quiet.

"We got a demand letter that says they want $3 million and that all these different accusations that she made up," Moon said. "This was sent on my birthday, so I know this was personal."

The Washington Post's Craig Whitlock reported Haskell filed a lawsuit in Orange County, California, on Dec. 4 in which she outlined specific allegations against Moon.

Haskell alleged Moon grabbed her crotch without her permission during a trip to Seattle and also "required her to wear thong underwear and share his bed" when they traveled on business trips.

Haskell also claimed Sports 1 Marketing demoted her after she made her superiors aware of Moon's alleged actions.

Moon told Bell that Haskell's demotion was unrelated to the harassment allegations and that while he and Haskell had shared the same bed in the past, they had a "non-sexual friendship."

Moon settled a lawsuit with a former Minnesota Vikings cheerleader in 1994 after the cheerleader alleged he had sexually harassed her.

Two years later, a jury found Moon not guilty after he was arrested on a charge of spousal abuse. His wife, from whom he divorced in 2001, told authorities at first that Moon had physically assaulted her but later testified he was acting in self defense after she had attacked him.

Adults sharing a bed and it's non sexual, plus she's a hot blonde, no way a guy could just sleep beside her without being up to something? He is most likely guilty but she has no proof.
