Not all hotels are created equal.
Having spent some time in Toronto recently I have notice that there are differences with the high speed access providers that service the various hotel chains.
Superclick.com in particular has a number of URL`s/IPs blocked (theredzone.com is one of them). It says "Sorry, this site is not found" - yea right.......
As far as I know I am not in Germany trying to find pro-Nazi web sites! Thanks, Superclick, but my moral compass works just fine and I don`t need you to supervise my activities.
Even some of the sites that are not blocked like TREB (ooops I mean https://terb.cc) and MBB, but after a while of surfing these "types" of sites, my access times out (i.e. - I can`t get to ANY sites) and I must reboot in order to surf again. Funny, as I don`t experience the same problem when surfing Google, CNN or other types of sites.
Using anonymous surfing sites like Orangatang.com is a decent work around however. Though TREB has the Orangatang.com IPs (and other similar service`s) blocked for good reasons.
Has anyone else experienced these types of surfing problems with hotel sponsored ISP`s??
Thanks,
Kilo.
