Jailed MMAer War Machine “forgives” his porn star ex despite allegedly brutalizing her to within inches of death in August.
“I forgive you, please forgive me, I love you,” War Machine wrote in a recent suicide note, according to a TMZ report.
In it, the one-time UFC fighter reportedly blamed Christy Mack for the alleged bust-up before attempting to take his own life in an L.A. jail cell late last week – an attempt that was foiled by a corrections officer.
“Finding what I found that night was devastating to me,” War Machine wrote, according to a TMZ report. “More than you will ever know. Not just the unfaithfulness, but the way U cared for him and protected him. Not a day goes by that I don't wish that you weren't hurt that night, I hope you know that.”
War Machine – previously known as Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver – faces 32 felony charges related to allegations of attempted murder and sexual assault against Mack.
A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrest warrant named War Machine as the prime suspect in the Aug. 8 assault against two people at a Las Vegas residence. Police allege that War Machine attacked Mack and a male friend after accusing her of cheating on him.
“If I could do it all over again I'd just have laid down and let him beat me up,” War Machine wrote in the suicide letter, according to TMZ. “Maybe you still loved me enough to stop him and make him leave. Maybe I could have just laid on our bed and cried and you'd have held me.”
According to a police report, War Machine choked and punched Corey Thomas -- the second victim -- in the same attack for about 10 minutes. During that incident, Mack called police.
After Thomas fled, War Machine allegedly attacked Mack, beating her in a shower and threatening her with a knife.
Mack, according to reports, suffered a blowout fracture of her left eye, other facial fractures, a lacerated liver, broken ribs and lost two teeth.
