I'm planning to send a friend in the USA a Walmart gift certificate for Xmas. I called a Walmart store here in K/W and the "duty manager" I spoke to indicated that a Canadian Walmart gift certificate isn't valid in the USA. But, a US gift certificate is valid in Canada. Any ideas on how to handle this situation, short of going over the border to purchase a gift certificate in Buffalo?

Short of that you might consider checking at walmart.com and see if you can send them one from the net.

But if you do come to Buffalo kick back and enjoy a beef on weck before you leave.

Just send the cash/money order.

Personally I hate it when people send gift certificates instructing where to buy my own gift.

The person I'm sending the gift certificate enjoys shopping at Walmart, in fact, the person works at walmart.

If you really want, I'm going to Vegas next month so I can pick one up for you. Just send the cash to my PO Box number.

Call their boss and send him some money and ask that he gives your friend an extra 15 minute break.

You can buy the gift certificates on the american walmart website to avoid all that hassle. I get them mailed to me all the time from members of my website sending me gifts just go to www.walmart.com you have to get creative in the adress filed when your sending it yourself in Canada but they still are delivered

For GAP gift certificate, you can use it anywhere in the world with current currency... so strange. (based on which country currency you have purchased it from)

Strange, but I believe online is the best way to purchase the certificate or gift card for your friends/family, too:)
