Best player out there, get it and never worry about anything else ever again.
Better than anything Microsoft has ever made as well as Apple's QuickTime.

Thanks, how do I get it? Is it a free download? Link?

VLC is pretty good and will handle just about any format you throw at it....;)

It is the Swiss army knife of video players. If the audio is mismatched in a video it even allows you to fix it.

Thanks for the feedback. The only videos I play now are ones I shoot with my camera, mostly 720p and sometimes 1080p. I use Media Player Classic and sometimes Quicktime.

One cool thing is that if you're a Linux / KDE geek multimedia is handled through an abstraction layer called Phonon. With Phonon you can select your backend, and VLC is one of the available choices. So basically your whole desktop ends up using the library components of VLC for all multimedia. (I'd actually suggest standalone VLC everyone on every platform.)

I like VLC, but I still will use Media Player Classic as my daily driver.
I have Media Player Classic (probably a 5-6 year old version) as well. I think it does frame by frame better than QuickTime or VLC.

Here is the problem. When I use Media Player Classic to play an AVI video, I cannot do a print screen or a "snapshot" (like in VLC)". What is the solution?
