I met this girl in Ecuador 6 years ago. We have been dating for 3 years now (long distance relationship). I wanted to bring her to Canada for 2 weeks but she has NO stable job in Ecuador and NO assests; the same goes for her family. Someone told me that she needs to show that she has a return ticket to Ecuador and 3500 CDN in her account, which wouldnt be a problem bc i can lend her the money. Just wondering if anybody has experienced this situation before. I am afraid she might get denied the visa because she has no assests or stable job.

Any help would be much appreaciated

I'll tell you this, Canada has been very strict with issuing visas to Latin American countries for the past few years. Even if you give her the money and the return ticket, there is still no sure thing. Considering her employment background or lack of as mentioned, her chances are slim.

Better keep you dough close to you for now.

If you relationship with her is super legit, let her apply on her own along with your letter of invitation and see how things will roll. If there's any chance , our embassy will likely ask for more financial info on you.

Again . Keep you dough close to you, for now.

Good luck.

This is good advice. Write the letter for her: stating that she will not need to spend any money while in Canada, you will take care of her expenses as your guest.

However the larger issue is that the Canadian Consulate wants to see evidence that will convince the Consul that she has reason to return to Equador, rather than trying to "go illegal in Canada." And, with your relationship that the two of you aren't going to decide to get married while she is in Canada and then try to adjust her visa status so that she can stay in Canada.

It is an uphill road that the two of you have before you.
