do you have a VISA MC ANEX vendor account already? Just having the machine won't do you any good unless you plan on using whomever you get the mcahine from's accounts.

That's a risky proposition in and of itself......

whoa, that's actually pretty cool for us self employed people. However I can see some crooks using it to scam stolen or "viewed" cc numbers.

From the looks of it you don't even need a merchant account just have to sign up for itunes.

Just thinking outloud: if you sign up for a paypal account I believe you can accept CC payments through that.

Do you have a wireless laptop? If you have a rogers account, that would work....kind of short notice though.

just f.y.i
the app for iphones is available in canada
but only on a monthly subscription, and it takes 7 days to set up.
very cool though

tboy...thanks. sometimes stating the obvious is important ('specially pre-coffee at 9am)

but reading the fine print, it takes 2 days to approve and allow you to process visas with paypal. im going to call and see if that could be sped up though. and look into other online options, since i will have wireless

thanks for your input everyone!

Yeah it is easy to send and receive payment via paypal, they just charge or credit your CC. It takes a couple of days because I think they send a test charge through your CC to verify it.

More and more companies are accepting paypal but be careful, I have heard complaints that their "take" is quite high (but I don't have first hand knowledge of it).

Glad I could help MB

This service requires a merchant account setup. You then tie the iPhone app to the merchant account. You can also register transactions online using any internet enabled computer.

Paypal (Payments Pro Account) also offers something similar but it does not include the iPhone/iPod app, so wireless is not as easily done when you're mobile.

Maybe you could get one of these at an antique shop...

before scrolling down, i was going to say paypal.
if you already have an account, i think it should be easy.
about a year and a half ago, i was in new york and bought art off a street vendor.
he used his iphone, before apps existed, went to paypal page and made the transaction.
it was easy.
with the app, i'm sure it's easier.

i just downloaded the app.
it stinks!
id suggest setting up your computer and actually using the paypal site, not the app. if you have wireless there.

the app is limited to you sending money.
