Viral marketing is word of mouth, online or offline. Viral video would mean a video that is passed around through online social networks -- like YouTube, MySpace, Slashdot, Digg, Fark, etc. or even just email, that has a marketing or promotional purpose, yet people find it funny or interesting enough to keep passing it on.

how quickly can word spread online thru websites like myspace or YouTube, my experience has been not greatly unless the event is really dramatic. two girls kissing isn't going to cut it.
