Hi....

Since Kassidy has taken her site down, this left Violette left out in the cold. As of today, Violette has a temp site at http://www.tonydisabled.com/violette . This site has NO photos YET!!!

If you know a good hosting company in Guelph please tell Violette.

Tony,

You may want to reconsider your choice to host this site, as you are in serious breach of copyright laws. The disclaimer and the text are verbatim from my site (minus the changes of our to my). Someone was nice enough to call me on my holiday to let me know about this and so I am replying.

The reason I pulled down the site is quite simple. Violette drastically changed her look. Which means that the site needed to be redone. To avert the risk of being labelled a bait and switch, I decided the best course of action was to pull the site down, pending the new photos. As she is on TERB, and I posted I would be away, and that the site was down, people who wish to see her, have a plethora of ways to contact her (since as you well know, she has been unable to read the e-mails sent to her kassidyskisses account as it is).

The logistics out of the way now....you have many ways of contacting me, to ask if you could use the information provided on the site. Considering you copy and pasted my disclaimer, you will have read that any material can no be reproduced without the written consent of the site owner, and that is me. For you and Violette to go behind my back is disgraceful.

If you wish to contact me to explain why you chose to do this without speaking with me, feel free to do so, you know how.

Yeah, pretty hard to copyright legal disclaimers or any other language from contract law.

IMHO the disclaimer isn't much to go on about - sorry Kassidy although I consider you a friend (or a least someone I know I can trust ) I think you there isn't much cause yo go on about disclaimer copying - unless its extremely original - many I have seen as a web techie are worded very close - and to be honest I have in the past printed out a bunch and reworded them to make mine. Content beyond that is different - and I am unaware it this is the case.

Hope I didn't offend you Kassidy - you know I respect you - but you know I will always tell my POV as well.

Disclaimer AND Text

I was not indicating that it was only the disclaimer that was copied directly from the site. There are other areas where the text is also verbatim from my site. I will admit that I was very angry when I made the previous post. If I had been contacted and told, "hey, since the site is down, is it okay for me to just put the pertinent text onto another website?" I am aware that disclaimers are all quite similar, but while writing my own, I tried very hard not to plagarize one from another site (remembering from high school that if more than three words in a row are the same it is considered plagarism)

Also, as an aside, the fact that the site was copied verbatim indicates that it was infact done BEFORE I pulled the site down for the overhaul, as each page of the site currently displays as a 404 error. So it was not done BECAUSE I had pulled down the site, infact it was done before.

I am not fond of those who chose to practice dishonesty. If Violette had issues with me, before the website changes needed to be done, as a business partner she should have approached me with her concerns. But that is irrelevant at this point. Needless to say, when I return from my vacation, I will be taking the time to make a decision, either to re launch my site without Violette, or to just retire.

That said, this is the last post I will be making on this topic. I have a nice vacation to enjoy, and the people who do need to talk to me about this haven't. I appologize for dragging this issue onto TERB, but sometimes our emotions get the better of us *grins sheepiishly*

There are services out there that cache sites just like tony had. As well anyone who visited it recently would have it in their cache.

It is easy to dig up stuff like this.

Copyright is copyright. Personally I think much of the Violette page SHOULD be rewritten. But then I'm a writer...

Whats funny is that it isn't even just the text, but even the colour choices that were ripped off. Personally, i find that completely disgraceful and shows very little integrity on the part of the webdesigner.

A public Thank You

I want to thank Tony. We spoke earlier this eve, the site has been changed, and we have reached an agreement on which text can and can not be used on the new site. I also want to appologize to him, and everyone here, for airing my dirty laundry in a public place. Sometimes, when we are angry, we don't think straight. And I was very angry when I posted the first post. I should have contacted him off of the boards. That said, he has acted with nothing but honesty and integrity since I explained the situation to him. And again I thank him for that.

That said, I am hoping back out tonight, and returning to my wild vacational antics! And leaving my cell phone behind! *grins*

You are wrong, Kassuidy's site was red/light blue and white where my is 2 shades of purple.

I would like to apoligize to Kassidy as our differences occured due to personal interference of sorts. I care for her dearly and wish her well. As that words in the site were mine originally. I asked Tony as I needed a way for the gents and ladies to contact me on short notice.

I don't like arguements or problems but due to light of the situation that I do not need to get into as it's between Kassy and myself I had to find other ways to continue my work. I am a fun happy person. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

the only change that I have now is that I have very short hair. I will be getting pictures done very soon.​
