As an amateur student of Russian history, it appears to me that over 50mm Russians died violent deaths since the glorious 1917 revolution at the hands of both internal and external forces. (China might be in the same ballpark during the same period.)

Well it seems like Vlad the Invader wants to keep repeating history. I also believe Xi Jinping in China will invade Taiwan before he gets too old or dies. Putin's disaster in Ukraine and with NATO more beefed up and more united, Xi's plan is probably delayed.
