I haven't payed attention to VC in awhile but I noticed he had 45 tonight. I then looked at this stats and saw he's been averaging over 28 in his last 5. For the year he's been:

For New Jersey
26.6 ppg @ .454 shooting, almost 6 boards / game, almost 5 dishes / game

For Toronto
15.8 ppg @ .411 shooting, bit over 3 boards and 3 dishes / game

damn..... he wasn't kidding when he admitted he was coasting in TO. :(

IF NJ misses the playoffs this year - you might hear some grumblings in the press.

Individual stats in basketball, though impressive; isn't that in important to the dynamics of a teams' sucess.

Great players elevate medicore players and make them play better under a controlled well coached system. Most great teams with sucess (as in championships not $$$revenues) have 1 or possibly 2 "great" players and they elevate the game of 3 or possibly 4. The Kevin Mchales, Scottie Pippens, James Worthys are the direct beneficiaries of the Birds, MJ and Magic / Kareems of the league.

VC is a pussy. A soft, crybaby, mamas boy, "I'm gonna take my ball home" kinda player. There's been a lot of them in the league, shit there's a lot of them now - a dime a dozen. He will never be a true singular gem on a team ( a Skywalker Thompson, The Iceman, a Bob Pettit, an Elvin Hayes or even a Bernard King). He's got too much baggage. Plus I doubt he has the heart to play hard, everynight even on a mediocre team (proofs in the pudding in TO).

Though it'll never happen again - I long for the days of The Pearl, the World B Frees, Tiny Archibald, The Glide and a man whon should be in the HOF... 'Nique- the guys who came in everyday and played their hearts out, win or lose.

His numbers mean shit if they can't win. And if they don't win - he'll just quit. One day VC will be a footnote - like Derek Coleman - ineveitably a joke.

I've seen the stats of players who played the same position as VC, roughly the same size and I laugh at the thought of VC in the HOF. He couldn't wring the sweat off the jock of a player like 'Nique or even the Rifleman. Why? Because these guys are winners, with or without a ring.

Sorry to tell ya this bro, VC just turned his back on the raps. it's just simple he didn't wanna be in TO anymore. We would've seen what he is doing in Jersey right now if he "TRIED" and i emphasize that word. Watch when he comes back next week to play us- he'll light us up w/ a 40-50 points and shut us fans down. He makes McGrady look like the good guy. He is one of those spoiled "mamma's boy kind of guys. i hust hope he doesn't treat the fans in Jersey the same as he did to us.

I'll be pissed if NJ gets Donyell Marshall somehow in the offseason. They could be pretty damn good once RJ comes back. They were well behind the Raptors when the trade went down and they are well ahead now. The Raptos have just get worse every year talent-wise since 2000.

The reason why VC is playing the way he is....is because he is not the star of the team anymore. Jason Kidd is.

Jason Kidd is a 1st ballot hall of famer which takes the pressure off of VC... not to mention threading precision like passes to him along with more open space.

VC will get MVP votes this year but the award will go to Shaq.
