Came home and shovelled the snow off the driveway. Hardest part was having my nuts exposed to all the nurses I knew in the OR. Unfortunately all were quite a bit older than me so no unexpected wood.

During surgery, the most painful part was getting the needle in your balls... TWICE.
During recovery, you do have to take it easy. There may be a fair bit of swelling, and you may need to avoid strenuous work for at least several days. I think I was wearing a jock strap for at least a few days.

I'm surprised that scdave shovelled snow. I would have avoided that.
Maybe I'm just a wimp... my recovery seemed to be longer than the first two that responded. I think I was completely back to normal after 2 weeks.

I love reading about the guys who had no difficulties after seeing Dr. Nick McCord..........................definitely the outliers.

As for the procedure, "Some men report a pulling or tugging sensation when the vas deferens tubes are handled during vasectomy, but discomfort generally lasts just a few moments." Fucking understatement! It felt like tubes were attached to the bottom of my stomach and were pulled out a foot while I squirmed in pain, even after the freezing.

Post procedure was not bad, swelling up to kiwi fruit size. My pal had his turn a couple of months after me, same clinic and doctor. Swelled up to tennis ball size, couldn't walk and severe pain. It's the ultimate YMMV.

But don't let me scare you, it's totally worth it and I would do it again if I had to.

can you choose to have the procedure done sedated?

does OHIP cover it? or out of pocket? if out of pocket, what is the cost of procedure?

also. what is your purpose of getting the procedure done? get to fuck raw with random girls without consequences?

curious mind inquires in case I will get it after my first kid :)

Local anesthetic. I don't think you have a choice. (C'mon, women go through a whole lot more pain with childbirth and C-sections.)
Covered by OHIP. It was a while back, but I'm almost positive that I didn't pay for it (done in Toronto, and I'm Canadian).
Wife and I had two kids. Wanted to stop at two without the worry of having a third.
Worth doing as long as you've thought it through.

the doctor should warn you in some men it may reconnect and grow back allowing you to fertilize. apparently a one in 5000 chance.

I should know :(

remember to get your sperm levels checked every so often so you can possibly prevent any accidents.

No scalpel vasectomy
During- a little sting with the freezing. When he clipped the vas, felt a mild discomfort in my lower abdomen, a bit like a tug/ ache.
Immediately after-sore for a few days. Was back at work the next day (desk job), but kept a bottle of water frozen in the fridge to rest on my balls sitting at the desk. Simple Advil/ Tylenol helped.
First orgasm after - ow. Felt a bit like I got kicked in the nuts. This was the case for a month or two, with the severity decreasing each time. I’m told this is unusual. Years later still occasionally get some post ejaculatory pain, more so if I’ve had multiple shots that day.
Still worth it.

AT the time, my urologist mentioned this reconnection probability, but he did say that the main contributor to the 1 in 5000 chance was largely due to those procedures that inserted a permanent "clamp" to pinch the vas deferens (the sperm tube).
There was a high incidence of these clamps loosening, causing the "reconnection".

Well I’m the guy who had the bad experience. I felt everything. I have a high pain tolerance and was in sheer agony. The urologist apologized and said to hold on while he worked fast. I could see the pity (or glee?) in the old nurse’s eyes... Anyways, I left the room dripping in sweat and struggling to walk. My sack was huge and black - it was swollen so much that I ripped the stitches...

PS - I was smart enough to shave my balls and go for a blowjob that morning. I was so bitter with my wife that she didn’t want to have sex before the operation. That sort of lead me more down the path of SPs...

PPS - All the pain was worth it. It was so awesome stuffing my bare cock into another woman and blowing my load. No risk. I could feel every bit of her soaking wet pussy. (Yes, I trusted her that she didn’t have STDs)

Bag of frozen peas packed recumbent - post surgery . Slight discomfort for a day. A lot easier on a male than the procedure on a female

I dont know the specifics of the how but I do remember the smell of burnt skin during the procedure. Im assuming cauterizing the vas.

either way on the second surgery I asked them to hack off more just to make sure.

I should have been more specific. That procedure of using a clamp to pinch the vas deferens was not standard procedure in Canada.
I smelled the cauterizing, too. So my procedure was definitely the "snip-snip".
