Its great we have all these cameras in place in our society these days. But funny how when something happens, most times it doesnt work. So wtf is the point of having it
This is for the safety of the people, but i wonder where it stands on the 'need to be fixed' list when its broken.
I feel sorry for the girl, they know and caught the group but cant do anything cuz of lack of evidence. what BS!

Now i wonder about those camera we have downtown, if something big was to go down, how many of those cameras would convenietly be broken

Not sure but Toronto is way different than Vancouver. Thats where it took 20+ years to get that pig farmer-and it was by accident the police found a body part at his farm

What gets me is how others don't step in to help people out when stuff like that happens. There must have been a few people who hear something. It was just a group of girls. Why didn't any MEN step in ?

Unfortunately, I have gotten my ass kicked a few times for stepping in, though it could have been a lot worse. And yes, I would do it again.

(I couldn't imagine what the public reaction would be though if someone like I (240 lbs.) punched an 18 year old girl in the face as hard as I could to break up a fight). Regardless of the situation.

hey you do the crime you do the time. if that were to happen i would have no sympathy for them. I would even say you deserve a medal. No different than anyone else coming to the aid of someone innocent. I'm sure you can judge how much force is needed. And i'm sure the victim will not mind either.

Sick of the people who starts something, and when something happens, IE: in some case death occurs, then their family etc will go on the news to say what an outstanding person they were. If you cant take what can happen to you then dont act like a badass and start something.
No different than a bully and the kids they push around.
Lot of ppl still dont realize its the quiet ones you always gotta watch out for, not the opposite.

On a side note, their sky train thing sounds pretty cool. Is it what it sounds like? There is no subways in Van right?
Would love to see that here vs. subway, and no unions either lol

How can there be no evidence when they got the knife, the purse, and caught the girls later? The victim is the evidence. Isn't that right?
Can't it go to a pretrial or whatever to see if there is evidence?

Does seem odd but seems like strange things happen over there. Thats were those 4 policemen HAD to taser that Polish guy who was lost in the airport all night.

But it does matter sometimes what the person saids or doesn't say that gets them arrested or not. If all the girls are saying NO we know nothing about it and the victim could not pick them out from a line up. I could see how the police can't arrest them if her purse and the knife was just found like in the trash can.

We don't know the whole story, hopefully the victim wasn't hurt too bad.
