This news has been out for a month, they are doing the same as Israel in relation to the low number of hospitalizations due to high levels of vaccination they are not going to use domestic passports.
Although from your article it notes about mass events " Organisers will, however, be permitted to run their own schemes, with the Premier League among those expected to introduce some form of certification to prove those attending football grounds do not pose a Covid risk."

I can only hope that this hysteria will end by the end of the year and a normal life will begin, even if there is the possibility of a covid infection in this life.

How's this related to Canada?
UK's handling of Covid is one of the worst in the world, and its death rate is also one of the worst in the world.
They probably have high percentage of population who has had Covid infection (US estimated is 33% of its population has had Covid, and I think UK would be close to that number).

So UK's measures and policy is of no relevance to us.

In Ontario 96% of people over 80 years old have had a shot. 80% of them have had two doses.
93% of people aged 70 - 79 have had a shot, 71% have had two doses.

These are the most at risk groups and they're the reason for the covid death count (9200 total deaths in a province of 14.57 million people). Now that most are vaccinated, why aren't we fully re-opened yet?

it's called playing it safe. Slow and easy just like a knife through cold butter. I'm glad public health and our politicians are acting responsibly unlike the Amigo camp would do.
