Using same manufacturer for Blue Ray and HDTV T.V's

I heard that it is best to use the same manufacturer of Blue Ray DVD players with flat panel TV's. Would I encounter any problems or lack of features if I choose, lets say a Sony Blue Ray but with a Samsung LCD/Plasma TV? I would welcome any thoughts on this matter. Thanks!

Not true. I've been using Sony's BDP-S1 and PS3 without issue with my Sansung HDTV.
