Don't know if it will come off but it looks like Ukraine might have suckered Russian troops into a trap south of the Seym river. I was wondering why Ukrainian forces didn't capitalize on the limited supplies coming across the river to expand their Kursk but it seems quite possible they were waiting for Russia to perform one of their standard flanking attacks to strike behind them and cut them off.
Of course it could just be a coincidence or a reactionary assault but if it was planned, it shows strong tactical leadership.
More on topic, Putin has been threatening a nuclear response to so many red lines. If he really does get upset, instead of tactical nukes or increasing his sabotage in Europe, a likely response will be to provide more direct support to anti-US forces like the Houthis.
