A journalist uncovred the truth about the CEO of the doomed submarine that collapsed.

The whole operation was very sketchy and unprofessional. The sub had numerous safety issues, from the wrong materials being used, to flammable materials, to parts falling apart and failing. The safety inspector brought these concerns to the CEO, who became angry. He fired the safety inspector, since the he refused to sign off on the inspection. The inspector would later say that it was an accident waiting to happen, and was concerned that people would die because of the CEO's ego.

Cnn did a 1 hour special on this guy.

He was definitely full of shit. The only good thing that came out of all this was that he died too. It would have really sucked if he wasn't in that sub too and just some flunky died instead of him.

What blew my mind was how to get in this sub they unbolt the nose on the sub, you climb in and they bolt it up. WTF?

Im watching them just thread in bolts around the perimeter of the nose and these guys are just tightening up these bolts with a craftsman ratchet. Like fuck, not even a torgue wrench, just tightening bolts. Fuck, I'll use a torque wrench changing spark plugs.

In addition, the carbon fiber he used had been rejected by Boeing and he was bragging about what a great deal he got on substandard carbon fiber. And they showed the inside of this sub and you just sat on the floor in your stocking feet.

It all seemed like a bad joke.

If you've got Bell Fibe, you can replay the episode on CNN that aired at 11 pm on Sunday July 2.

Stockton Rush may have done the math but he knew nothing about Mechanical Design. I'll use an F1 roadster as an example: the body is made of carbon fiber, the chassis is made of a titanium alloy melded with aluminum and low carbon steel. Carbon fiber is good for wind resistance, intense static pressure - not so much. It's also suggested he used a Logitech controller to guide the sub, that would have been great! He actually used an Xbox controller, we all know how buggy Microsoft products are.
