If they could have they obviously would have.
To suggest they did and want to cover this up is idiotic.
They would have taken a lot of heat if they had shot all 4 planes down because people wouldn't have realized what had been prevented.
After the first strike they were justified and indeed obligated to shoot down the others.
The airlines delayed contacting the FAA and the FAA delayed contacting the military.
Cheney claims he gave the order when only Bush can.
Bush claims he gave the order but there is no communication record to back this up.
The 2 nearby fighter pilots claim they did not receive the order but they were too late anyways.
They all look like a bunch of inept idiots for not being able to shoot the planes down.
Why the hell would they deny shooting the fourth plane down?
That would be one of the few things they could claim they got right.
