Uninstall D-Link software

Yesterday my PS3 automatically downloaded upgrade software though my home wireless.

Since then, all my searches are hijacked by D-Link. I tried to call D-Link but "the number you dialed is no longer in service." That can't be good.

I tried re-setting the search parameters in Google Chrome (my browser) but the searches are still being hijacked.

Anybody else have this problem? Is this fixable, and how did you do it?

Option #1: Replace your home router.

Option #2: Fix it yourself.

Use the Run command on the start menu, or find command prompt in accessories. Type in:

IPCONFIG

It should come up with a gateway address along the lines of 192.168.0.1

Go into your web browser, and in the address bar at the top of the screen, type in: 192.168.0.1

You should see the routers configuration page. Browse around, and it will probably tell you what is wrong.

Likely causes:
a) Router has only been up for < 10 minutes: Replace router (unless you rebooted the router or unplugged it.)
b) No internet connection: This could have a variety of causes.
c) Router forgot your internet password/setup: Put in a new password/configuration into the router. Your ISP probably gave you instructions when you got your internet service.

does this mean the op could get into his router without username/password?

Yes.

At least some models of D-Link Routers lose their configuration before they fail completely.

The original poster may have also remembered the password, or had it written down somewhere.
