A female friend saw this with her husband last night. Very intense. She ended up with her head on his shoulders and eyes shut during some parts of the movie and believe me she's not the sensitive type. I won't be seeing it. Suggest those who aren't into emotional tear at you movies give it a pass.

Not at all.

More Shawshank Redemption than Top Gun.
BS.

Angelina Jolie is a hack, everything about her is fake. She doesn't have it in her to make a Shawshank. I have no interest in watching her melodramatic propaganda film.

Some may take exception with that comment so I'll elaborate. Did the Japanese firebomb American cities? Did the Japanese drop nuclear bombs on America, not once but twice?

Your horrific lack of knowledge about the war in Asia and the Pacific 1937-1945 is showing when you can make the above statement.

Surely Amazon must be wrong: they list Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption as biography.

Nonsense my good friend Aardie, my knowledge of humanity's inhumanity toward itself is depressingly detailed. But a piece of bum fluff film-making by a hack won't help people to understand what happened. And your dates are wrong 1931 - 45.

There is certainly great irony that many Japanese war criminals among them Mutsuhiro Watanabe have died in their own beds while German war criminals are still actively being hunted down to this day.

All depends on who you kill.
